In cooperation with the Swedish institutes RI.SE and SWERIM, the Copper Association will host “Copper Alloys 2022” on Nov. 22^nd and 23^rd in Duesseldorf, Germany. The conference aims to further strengthen the community of copper and copper alloy companies by providing up-to-date research results and reflecting on the necessary research and development approaches against the backdrop of current societal megatrends. Registrations for the event will be accepted until November 5^th.

In addition to the numerous technical presentations by renowned speakers from science and industry, there will also be room for professional exchange: The application-oriented conference offers the entire copper-related industry and research landscape an ideal networking platform on an international level. An evening get-together at the Düsseldorf Industry Club will round off the event.

Sustainable future through copper

One focus of the conference this year is on the importance of copper materials for a sustainable future. Key notes will deal in particular with the consequences of the Green Deal and the EU’s Level(s) program for the design of sustainable buildings, as well as the automotive industry’s aim to implement the desire for all-encompassing “green” mobility as quickly as possible. Both in the building sector and in the mobility and energy transition, copper materials play a crucial role due to their unique properties.

Not least in this context, the conference will also look at how the semi-finished copper products industry is mastering the challenge of developing and using sustainable copper materials. Topics such as material design and characterization, casting and parameters, innovative joining techniques, material analysis and digitalization, and materials processing will also be covered.
