Joint Association Paper on the Implementation of the DWD
The European Drinking Water Directive introduces new, stricter regulations for the maximum lead content in drinking water and will have significant impacts on the European brass industry. In cooperation with IWCC, ASSOMET, and the Copper Institute, a paper was developed and published, which clearly outlines the future applicability of CW alloys in the drinking water sector in Europe for market participants. This overview has been and continues to be considered necessary by all parties involved, as the underlying European and national legislations (EU DWD – Drinking Water Directive; national drinking water legislations) still lead to ambiguities and misunderstandings due to their complexity.
