Kupferverband now a member of the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance

In mid-2020, the European Union presented its hydrogen strategy. The aim is to support the achievement of the climate targets with the expansion of the energy carrier hydrogen (H2) and to promote the development of a European hydrogen economy. In parallel, the “European Alliance for Clean Hydrogen” (“Clean Hydrogen Alliance”) was founded, which the Copper Association has now joined. The European Clean Hydrogen Alliance supports the development of a clean and globally competitive hydrogen industry in Europe. Clean hydrogen technologies offer the potential to comprehensively decarbonise some of the highest emitting industries in Europe and play a key role in supporting Europe’s transition to a carbon neutral economy. The Alliance for Clean Hydrogen will act as a platform to enable close cooperation and coordination along the value chain. For the copper processing industry, the topic of hydrogen is becoming increasingly important.
