With over 30 presentations by renowned speakers from all over Europe, the international Copper Alloys conference invites you to Stockholm on 8 and 9 October this year. The joint event organised by the Copper Association and the Swedish institute RISE will present the latest scientific and technical developments relating to the use of copper materials. Registration is now open. An early bird discount is available until 30 June.

Copper Alloys is the largest and most comprehensive scientific forum dedicated to the materials science of copper. The 2024 conference aims to further strengthen the copper and copper alloys community by providing up-to-date research results and reflecting necessary R&D approaches against the background of current megatrends.

The growing awareness of a more responsible use of resources, environmental stability and health protection as well as the uncertain geopolitical situation have prompted society, politics and legislation to reprioritise the agenda. The circular economy, fossil-free energy, Green Deal, Total Defence and other buzzwords represent this new paradigm and are putting industry and science under great pressure to propose and develop innovative solutions.

Current trends and developments

New applications and processes are needed in response to the associated challenges, and universities, research institutes and market players along the value chains must further intensify their joint efforts. The developing platforms for materials research and development place high demands on optimising and supplementing processing methods, closing gaps in global material flows and introducing loss-free recycling technologies.

This year’s main topics are production and manufacturing, material properties in applications, new alloys and material development, life cycle and surface properties as well as historical and future aspects of the use of copper materials.
